As she was going through the mail, Susan came across her bank statement and was puzzled why she was earning so little. She decided it was time to learn about her money situation.
At that same time, her friend Pam knocked at the door. Susan opened the door and let Pam in. Pam asked, "What is all this paper on your kitchen table?" Susan replied, I was going over my financials and found my bank statement." With a smile on her face, Pam asked, "What did you learn?" Susan replied, "I see that my money isn't growing."
"You know, Pam," Susan said, "As I said before, I'm not knowledgeable in financial matters. No one took the time to teach me about money growing up." "That's okay," replied Pam. If you have a few minutes, I will share what I learned after my husband passed.

Susan handed Pam the bank statement, and she began explaining what was happening with her account. Pam pointed at the interest rate and told Susan she was earning .06% interest. Susan asked, "What does that mean?"
Pam replied, "Susan, your bank is making more money than you." In short, it would take 1,200 years for your money to double." With a shocked look, Susan said, "1,200 years! How did you come up with that number?"
"Before I tell you, let me ask a question," Susan responded. "Have you ever heard of the rule of 72?" Susan replied, "No, what is the rule of 72?" Pam said, "It's how long it takes your money to double." "I attend this seminar online twice a month and learn so much. It is a fun financial literacy game, and you will learn more than the rule of 72. so much." Susan asks, "What is the website?" "It's rjevents.net." Replied Susan.
